Janus

Janus tapped Eric Gerth as its new national sales director. Gerth, who was most recently national sales director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, will be responsible for expanding the firm’s fund distribution through broker/dealers, institutional investors, and advisors.

Columbia Management Group

Brenda Furlong joined the firm as its new head of fixed income. Furlong, previously with Hartford Financial Services, replaces Mark Marinella who left the firm in April.

Oak Value Capital Management

Following the unfortunate passing of former CEO and chairman George Brumley, Oak Value Capital Management has promoted David Carr Jr. to chairman and Larry Coats to president and CEO. Carr co-founded the firm with Brumley in 1986.

Old Mutual

Old Mutual’s affiliate Analytic Investors recently hired Brian Haskin as managing director, marketing and client services. Haskin most recently held senior business development and management positions in the U.S., Australia, and Hong Kong with Barclays Global Investors.

Morgan Stanley

Morgan Stanley’s private wealth management group selected Scott Gregorchuk as the firm’s new head for the Northeast region. Gregorchuk is currently the head of the firm’s New York region.

State Street Research & Management

State Street Research & Management has named Brett Wander as head of the market-based strategies group for the fixed income business. Wander, who was previously chief investment strategist for Analytic Investors, will head a team of five portfolio managers and analysts who will create and implement the portfolio strategy for about $15 billion of bond fund AUM.

Charles Schwab

John Morris has been promoted to head of managed accounts at Charles Schwab following the departure of former head Jeff Cusack. Morris is a 20-year veteran who has been working in various aspects of the firm’s managed accounts business including strategy, marketing and financial performance for the last few years.

Jensen Investment Management

The firm has tapped Brian Ferrie as its new chief financial officer and head of compliance. Ferrie was previously CFO and compliance officer at Berger Funds. He will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm to ensure that it is in compliance with regulatory mandates.
