Waddell & Reed

Brad Ross has left his role as head of sales at ING to become senior vice president and national sales manager at Waddell & Reed’s Ivy Fund Distributor. Ross will report to Tom Butch, chief marketing officer at Waddell & Reed.

Columbia Management Group

Columbia Management has brought Richard Lucy on board as its managing director in charge of taxable fixed-income research. Lucy will replace Mark Marinella, who left in April after eight months as head of fixed-income research.

Victory Capital Management

Gavin Whitmore has moved from Phoenix Investment Partners to Victory Capital Management, where he will serve as head of national account sales.

Janus Capital

Former ICMA Retirement president and CEO, Girard Miller, will join Janus Capital as its new chief operating officer and executive vice president. Miller will be replaced by interim CEO, Joan McCallen.

Frank Russell

Craig Ueland will become president and CEO of Frank Russell by January 1, 2004. Ueland will be taking over for the departing CEO, Mike Phillips. Phillips has been with Russell since 1990 and will remain with the firm as chairman. Ueland started with Russell in 1983 as a research analyst and most recently severed as COO.

Deutsche Asset Management

H. Dean Benner will head Deutsche’s insurance fixed-income management team. Benner, a former managing director of structured core fixed-income management at Credit Suisse First Boston, will work to guide the investment strategy for the firm’s insurance assets. Benner will also work to improve the firm’s fixed-income products and services that it provides to the firm’s insurance clients.

Bridgeway Capital Management

Houston-based Bridgeway Capital Management has recruited former vice president for enterprise strategy and marketing at Hewlett-Packard, Mike Mulcahy, as director and partner. The firm has also hired Michael Rome as a partner. Rome was formerly senior vice president of institutional marketing for AIM Management Group.

Oak Ridge Investments LLC

Oak Ridge has tapped Michael Harrington as their executive vice president and director of marketing. Harrington was formerly managing director of separately managed accounts at Scudder Investments/Deutsche Asset Management.

Boston Capital Corp.

Frank Chandler has been promoted to senior vice president and national sales director. Chandler joined Boston Capital in 1997 as a consultant in the sales and marketing group.

State Street

Vincent Lepore has left his role as head of managed accounts services at State Street Corp. to run his own consulting firm for the separate accounts industry and remain as a senior consultant to the Money Management Institute’s Technology & Operations Sub-committee. Meg McGrory Kelleher, senior vice president of wealth manager services, will assume Lepore’s responsibilities.
