New York Life Asset Management

New York Life Asset Management has selected Bill Hayne and Hugh Burton to join the firm in its quest to expand its affiliates, which include MacKay Shields and QED Investments, managed accounts business. Hayne was formerly with the private client group of Fisher Investments and Burton last spent time with Jurika & Voyles.

Mellon HR Solutions

Mellon HR Solutions, a Mellon Bank subsidiary that provides 401(k) and defined benefit recordkeeping and administration services, announced that Jude Metcalfe has resigned as president and CEO. A leadership team will fill his responsibilities. Metcalfe’s departure comes at a time Mellon is looking to integrate its four HR-focused subsidiaries, which include Buck Consultants, Mellon Investor Services, Mellon HR Solutions, and Vinings Mellon.

Integrity Mutual Funds

Two new senior executives have been hired by Integrity Mutual Funds. Mark Anderson, most recently a personal trust officer at Wells Fargo Bank North Dakota, will be the firm’s new president and chief operating officer. Jerry Szilagyi, former executive vice president of Orbitex Financial Services Group, has been selected as senior vice president of business and development, a newly created position at the firm.

Fremont Investment Advisors

Fremont Investment Advisors has selected James Klescewski as chief financial officer and senior vice president. Klescewski was formerly the CFO, managing director, and member of the executive committee at Montgomery Asset Management. His new responsibilities at Montgomery will include overseeing the finance, mutual fund, and accounting areas.

Oppenheimer Capital

Oppenheimer Capital’s independently operated unit of Allianz Dresdner Asset Management announced that Bruce Koepfgen has officially taken over as CEO. He will be responsible for all non-investment issues at the firm. Previously, Koepfgen was a fixed income managing director at Salomon Brothers.

Principal Global Investors

The firm has tapped Doug Younkin as managing director of third party distribution, a newly created position for Principal Global Investors. Younkin, who was most recently the national sales manager at Credit Suisse Asset Management, will be responsible for marketing the firm’s managed accounts to brokers/dealers.

Bank One

Steve McLellan has been hired by Bank One as a national manager for its private client services group. McLellan was previously a regional sales director for Citigroup’s, Smith Barney. Recently, Bank One has recruited a number of former Citigroup professionals.

ProFunds

Ed Oberholtzer has been hired by ProFunds as vice president eastern division sales, a newly created position at the firm. Oberholtzer was most recently vice president in the investment advisory group at American Skandia Life Assurance.
