Franklin Templeton

Franklin Templeton recently promoted two individuals to execute level positions. Jim Baio, formerly the firm’s chief administrative officer, will take over the lead as chief financial officer. At the same time, Jennifer Bolt has been promoted to chief information officer. Bolt was previously the firm’s chief Web officer.

Prudential Annuities

As part of the continuing assimilation process of American Skandia, Prudential has appointed several executives to various roles within combined firm. Rick Singmaster, former vice president of wholesaling at Skandia, has been selected to manage sales through bank channels and independent advisors. Hayward Sawyer, a former executive vice president, will oversee the combined firm’s relationship management unit. Jim Novack, formerly Prudential Annuity’s national sales manager, will now be responsible for the firm’s proprietary sales force.

Bank of America

Bank of America’s investment management arm, Banc of America Capital Management, has hired Anthony Carmenate as director of marketing, a newly created position. Most recently, he was director of U.S. product management in the Alliance Bernstein unit of Alliance Capital Management.

Charles Schwab

William Atwell has been tapped as head of Client Sales and Service. Schwab also appointed Jody Bilney as head of the firm’s growing management sector, which is geared towards affluent investors.

Lord Abbett

Darren Luckfield, a former developer of offshore mutual funds, separate accounts and wrap fee-based products at Merrill Lynch, has joined Lord Abbett as director of marketing for Latin America.

Mellon Financial

Mellon Financial, in efforts to boost its private wealth management group, has hired two new sales executives. Henry Miller, who has joined the firm’s Philadelphia office, was formerly the president and CEO of Mellon Global Investments-Japan. Kathy Nalywajko, a former vice president with U.S. Trust, will be responsible for business development in personal sales in the firm’s New York office.
