Merrill Lynch: Stephen Mitchell has departed from Fidelity Investments to become director of retirement marketing in the Global Private Client Group. He was formerly a senior vice president in Fidelity's personal investment division. [Fund Marketing Alert, January 2]

Prudential Investments: David Odenath Jr. has been appointed to lead the transition team uniting American Skandia with Prudential Investments. Judy Rice will replace Odenath and will lead the mutual fund and managed account businesses. [Ignites, January 2]

US Trust: William Brennan, managing director of institutional sales, will assume the role of senior vice president of sales, overseeing the bank's mutual fund sales in addition to his institutional sales role. He is replacing H. Roderick Lloyd-Williams, who has stepped down.

Victory Capital: Robert Unger, formerly the VP senior trust officer for M&T Bank, and Paul Redden, former director of institutional sales at Principal Financial, have joined the retirement services group at Victory Capital Management. John Kutz will oversee both newly created positions. Unger will be based in Dayton, Ohio, managing the sales territories in the Midwest, while Redden will oversee sales operations in the East, operating out of New York. GE Financial: Rick Burrows has been hired by GE Financial to expand distribution out west. Burrows, who had worked for Cal Fed Bank, will now serve as vice president in charge of distribution development in GE's wealth and income management division. Burrows will oversee bank expansion, and will report to Ron Felmus, senior vice president and director of strategic accounts. [Ignites.com, January 8]

Linkage, Inc., an organizational development firm, has named Linda Coughlin its new president. Coughlin left her position as chairwoman and president of Scudder Mutual Funds last February. Coughlin did make use of Linkage's consulting services in her time at Scudder. [Ignites.com, January 8]

SunAmerica: Timothy Pettee will manage the investment group at AIG SunAmerica Mutual Funds as well as the firm's research and trading units. He departs Schroder Investment Management, where he was executive vice president, global director of research and manager of a large cap US product group. Grant Cowley will takeover Pettee's duties at Schroder. [Ignites.com, January 17]

Victory Capital Management is bringing on two new wholesalers to focus on the defined contribution channel. Robert Unger will serve the Northeast while Paul Redden will cover the Midwest. Unger joins Victory from Prudential Financial, where he as director of institutional retirement services. Redden was an institutional sales representative at Principal Financial Group. Safeco Life and Investments: Jeffrey Hardwick is joining Safeco Life and Investments as managing director of broker-dealer distribution. He departs Jackson National Life, where he served as regional director of the Northwest division. [Ignites.com, January 17]

SEI Investments has hired Michael Leahy as head of alternative investment operations, a new position. In this role, Leahy will report to Stephen Meyer, executive vice president and head of alternative investments at SEI. [Fundfire.com, January 17]

Delaware Investments: Jude Driscoll's title has changed from interim president to president and CEO of both Delaware Investments and Lincoln National Investment Cos. He was named interim president in October following the departure of the firm's previous president, Ed Haldeman.
