Arrowhead Financial Group: Deborah Szul has left Seidler Cos. Inc. to join Arrowhead Financial Group as vice president, chief financial officer and chief compliance officer. [InvestmentNews, July 22, 2002]

Bank of America Corp.: Doug Hutt has been tapped as chief executive of Bank of America's private banking business in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. He will also retain the role as president of its Dallas bank. [American Banker, July 25, 2002]

Deutsche Asset Management: Ross Youngman has been tapped to head up Deutsche Asset Management's business in Australia. Youngman was a managing director and head formerly head of retail for the Americas at Deutsche. [Fund Action, July 22, 2002]

Eureka Investment Advisors: Michael Sessum has been tapped to the newly created position of chief operating officer of Eureka Investment Advisors in order to coordinate the sales and distribution of its funds and managed account platform. [Fund Marketing Alert, July 29, 2002]

Fidelity Investments Institutional Services Company: Mike Kellogg has left his post as executive vice president at Fidelity Investments Institutional Services Company. Kellogg is being replaced by Bill Loehning, who was previously senior vice president and national sales manager for the firm's insurance businesses, has been promoted to executive vice president. Additionally, Don Holborn, an executive vice president in the firm's retirement services area, will also absorb some of Kellogg's prior responsibilities. [Ignites.com, July 25, 2002]

ING Groep NV: Valerie Brown has been named the head of channels and the national sales manager for ING Advisors Network. Jackie Figliola was named the head of operations and products, Jack Handy the head of bank and independent channels, and Cindy Hamel the chief operating officer. [American Banker, July 23, 2002]

John Hancock Funds: The following five people have joined John Hancock Funds' sales force: Gregory LaVersa from Seligman Advisors and Christopher Finch from Fidelity Investments have been named regional vice presidents and outside business development consultants. James Bradley Baker joins from Legg Mason Wood Walker as a managing director for the Private Client Group. Securities and Exchange Commission: The Senate unanimously approved four of President Bush's nominations to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Bush tapped Texas broadcasting entrepreneur Roel Campos and Columbia University law professor Harvey Goldschmid to fill openings for Democrats on the five-member SEC, along with two Republicans, economist Cynthia Glassman and attorney Paul Atkins. Union Bank of California: Mari Kano has been tapped senior vice president and the deputy planning director of Union Bank of California's institutional services and asset management division. [American Banker, July 24, 2002]

UpTick Data Technologies: Bill Chambers, formerly of Thomson Financial's Wealth Management Group, has joined UpTick Data Technologies as president. [Fund Action, July 29, 2002]

Wasatch Advisors: Eric Johnson has left Strong Funds to join Wasatch Advisors as mutual funds director, a newly created position. He will fill a role formerly occupied by Eric Bergeson, director of marketing. Bergeson will focus solely on institutional marketing. [Ignites.com, July 25, 2002]
